Design study (digital visualization)
The current digital model of Balloon Dog uses a tubular diameter of approximately 160 mm. In the Balloon Loop series, the thickness of the line is closely connected to the overall scale and recognizability of each animal. As the sculpture becomes larger or smaller, the line weight must change proportionally to preserve the visual character of the form.
Since the final material is FRP, the project will begin by determining the appropriate internal steel frame structure and the sectional geometry required to support a 160 mm line thickness. After confirming the structural requirements, the overall dimensions and geometry of Balloon Dog will be adjusted accordingly. The final CAD model will then be reconstructed for structural review, mold planning, sectioning, welding of the internal frame, and future FRP fabrication.
