Sagrada Família
This artwork is inspired by the architecture of the Sagrada Família. Stacking paper cups to form a cylindrical column is simple, but creating a tapering shape that narrows toward the top is more challenging.
There are two methods you can use to achieve a tapering effect at the upper section of a cylindrical cup column:
1. Using a circular ring guide
Starting from the layer where the tapering begins, you can place a ring-shaped circular guide on top of the cups. This guide gradually reduces the diameter of the circle formed by the cups. Using this method, you can create a sculptural artwork that pays tribute to the Sagrada Família.
2. Adjusting the number and spacing of cups
As you build upward, you can reduce the number of cups per layer. By slightly widening or narrowing the spacing between the cups, you can fine‑tune the diameter of each circular layer. This approach produces a smoother and more natural tapering effect
