Artwork Description
Inspired by the Great Wall of China, this installation reimagines the concept of a “wall.”
No longer a symbol of division or exclusion, the wall becomes a metaphor for time—flowing like a river, carrying humanity forward together into a shared future.

Rather than rigid and imposing, this wall is soft and embracing.
Its form is reborn as two gentle curves that ripple through space, symbolizing connection across eras and civilizations.
Each of the 16,251 paper cups represents a moment, a person, a memory—collectively forming a living stream of time rather than a fixed structure.
These curves do not create boundaries; they build relationships.
They do not resist; they receive.
They do not divide; they unite.

Within their flow, we imagine a future where past and present, individual and collective, East and West move together in harmony.
The Great Wall expands the idea of a wall into a space of memory, connection, and inclusion.

It quietly reminds us that we are all part of the same current—embracing one another as we move forward through time.
And this installation is not eternal.
Like petals falling in rhythm with the seasons, it will gently dissolve over time.

This is not destruction or disorder, but a graceful return to nature’s rhythm—a quiet surrender to impermanence and essence.
Its disappearance is not an end, but a beginning.
Even as its form fades, its memory remains—flowing softly in the hearts of those who witness it.

The Great Wall dismantles its own boundaries through time, drawing ever closer to us—softer, deeper, and more expansive.
