The original size of this artwork is based on 50 paper cups arranged along the base of the triangle, and the overall dimensions of the piece are adjusted according to the scale of the art gallery.
Description:
This work arranges ordinary paper cups in a honeycomb structure within a perfect equilateral triangle, exploring the beauty that emerges from order and repetition. Each cup functions like a cell, while the overall structure evokes natural patterns—beehives, crystals, and Pascal’s Triangle—embodying mathematical harmony and visual rhythm.
The artist uses the everyday object of a cup to speak of the “possibility of emptiness.” Though each cup is empty, they invite the viewer’s gaze and imagination to fill them, leaving infinite room for interpretation within the stable geometry of the triangle. The reflection of the triangle on the polished floor blurs the boundary between reality and ideal, matter and concept, adding a poetic tension to the composition.
This installation is not merely about repetition, but about relationship, balance, and communal connection. Each cup is an indispensable part of the whole, prompting the audience to reconsider the meaning of “I” and “We.”
