Artwork Description:
Elizabeth Tower is a vertical installation composed of 6,239 paper cups, reimagining the iconic British clock tower through ephemeral materials. Standing 8 meters tall on a 1-meter square base, the sculpture translates architectural grandeur into minimalist repetition.

Completed in 1859, Elizabeth Tower is more than a timepiece—it is a cultural symbol of resilience, precision, and collective memory. Its chimes have marked moments of war, peace, and everyday life for generations.

This artwork explores the tension between permanence and disposability. By using mass-produced paper cups to replicate a monument of timelessness, the artist invites reflection on modern consumption, historical continuity, and the fragility of meaning.

Each cup is meticulously aligned, echoing the Gothic Revival symmetry of the original structure. Light and shadow animate the surface, while the vertical rhythm evokes both meditative stillness and architectural ambition. The tower stands not only as a sculptural form, but as a meditation on time—stacked, measured, and ultimately spent.
