Returning the Balloon Animal
A balloon animal is one of the simplest and most familiar objects from childhood. It is playful, temporary, and made to be shared. For many people, it represents joy, celebration, and imagination.
In contemporary art, Jeff Koons transformed the balloon animal into one of the world's most recognizable sculptures. His work elevated an ordinary object into a symbol of fine art and extraordinary value.
This project begins with a simple question:
Can the balloon animal belong to everyone again?
Rather than recreating a real balloon, these sculptures reduce the form to a single continuous line. The surface is simple, the structure is open, and empty space becomes part of the sculpture itself. Instead of celebrating luxury or perfection, the work celebrates movement, simplicity, and accessibility.
The sculptures are designed for parks, streets, and public spaces—places where people of all ages can encounter them without barriers. They invite viewers to walk around them, discover the animal from different angles, and reconnect with the sense of curiosity that balloon animals once inspired.
This work is not about replacing the iconic balloon animal. It is about returning it to the public imagination.
By transforming a cultural icon into an open, approachable form, the sculptures invite everyone to experience the balloon animal once again—not as an untouchable masterpiece, but as a shared symbol of creativity, play, and community.

These sculptures reclaim the balloon animal as a public language. What was once transformed into an icon of the art world is returned to everyday life—where it can once again be experienced, shared, and enjoyed by everyone.
